Overview: Long before the concept existed, the Duchess of Devonshire, Georgiana Spencer (Keira Knightley), was the original "Girl." Like its direct descendant Princess Diana, was ravishing, glamorous and loved by an entire country. Determined to be a player in the broader issues of the world, showed that she could play outside, outside the drink and circumvent most of the aristocracy as men surrounded her. She helped usher in changes to England as leader of thought oriented Whig Party. But even as power and his popularity grew, was persecuted by the fact that the only man in England who was apparently can not seduce her own husband, the Duke (Ralph Fiennes). And when she tried to find their own way of being faithful to his heart and faithful to their duty, and tortuous disputes resulting links would leave all talking about London.
