Overview: The rich multi Charlotte Cartwright (Kathy Bates) and her dear friend Alice Pratt (Alfre Woodard), a working class woman of high ideals, have enjoyed a lasting friendship over many years. Suddenly, their lives were plunged into turmoil on their adult children of extramarital affairs, business practices unethical and paternity of a dark secret threaten to derail the family fortunes and undo the lives of everyone involved. Alice's newly self-centered daughter Andrea (Sanaa Lathan) is betraying the trust of her husband Chris (Rockmond Dunbar) to participate in a torrid relationship with his boss mothers and best friends son William (Cole Hauser). While cheating on his wife, Jillian (Kadee Strickland) with a string of dalliances with his current lover Andrea, William truth is replacing the COO of their mothers lucrative construction company. Meanwhile, Alice's other daughter Pam (Taraji Henson), a kind but no nonsense woman married to a hard working construction worker (Tyler Perry) tries to steer the family in a more positive direction.
