Barkley and his mother, Sarah, a renowned forensic psychiatrist, now have the misfortune to live with a man-eating monster whose philandering ways have received less and less discreet. Barkley as if the world is not bad enough, on the eve of his father receiving the Nobel, Barkley is kidnapped and the ransom requested is $ 2000000 in the Nobel prize money. Needless to say, Eli refuses to pay and so starts a venomous tale of family dysfunction, lust, betrayal and ultimately revenge.
